Dominican Republic

Every November Watkinson takes a group of students and faculty to the Dominican Republic to treat Haitian workers that work in sugar cane. They run medical clinics across the country alongside a construction site.

Last year during Thanksgiving break, I went on the DR trip for the first time. As much as it was challenging for me it opened new doors and taught me ways that I can make a difference in the world from near or far.

I will be returning again this Thanksgiving break. I am beyond excited to return and see the friends I met last year. I hope to venture deeper into the medical clinic aspect of the trip as my goal in life is to work in the medical field.
